Iurii Rybak

ROLE

Iurii Rybak is an associate at Omnia, his practice is focused on international commercial and investment arbitration disputes. Iurii has experience in acting for private companies and foreign sovereigns across a broad range of sectors, and has been involved in arbitration under major institutional and ad hoc rules, including ICSID, ICSID Additional Facility, UNCITRAL, LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, ICDR, CAM and the ICAC at the UCCI rules. He has also served as Tribunal secretary.

CAREER

Iurii has represented clients in various high-value and complex cases in investment and commercial arbitrations seated in both common and civil law jurisdictions, including England, New York, the Netherlands and Ukraine. He has particular experience of arbitration in the oil and gas, renewable energy, financial services, aviation, construction and infrastructure sectors. The recent highlights of his practice include representing a group of Asian investors in a multi-billion investment arbitration dispute against an Eastern European State as well as representing investors in construction and energy sectors in investment arbitrations against CIS States.

Prior to Omnia, Iurii was at another leading international law firm in London. He also practised international arbitration for more than five years at top-tier Ukrainian law firm in Kyiv and gained experience at the case management team of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

QUALIFICATIONS

Iurii is a dual-qualified lawyer practicing as a solicitor in England & Wales and a Ukrainian-qualified lawyer. His first degree was from the Kyiv National Economic University in Ukraine. He holds a Master’s degree in international law from the University of Aberdeen. Iurii is fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian.
