Role

Julia Yun Hulme is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Omnia Strategy.  Julia’s practice focuses on delivering strategic advice to business leaders, Governments and private clients around the world.  Julia has extensive contentious and non-contentious experience with particular expertise in corporate finance, international mergers and acquisitions, private equity and the oil & gas sector.  Combining a broad legal perspective with a detailed understanding of communications, public policy and diplomacy, Julia provides key strategic advice on international disputes.

Career

Before co-founding Omnia Strategy with Cherie Blair in 2011, Julia was Deputy General Counsel for a large African oil company responsible for a pan-European team of lawyers and overseeing a varied portfolio including arbitration, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and restructuring.

Julia began her legal career as a senior legal clerk for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Hawaii reviewing civil and criminal appeals and drafting judicial opinions.  She gained experience in alternative dispute resolution at several leading law firms in Hong Kong, Paris, Sydney and New York before working at a leading US law firm in London where she focused on international capital markets and cross-border finance, leading large transaction and project teams.

Qualifications

Julia is a dual qualified US attorney & UK solicitor with over 20 years of experience. After graduating from Yale with a BA (honours) in Political Science and International Relations, she earned her JD from New York University School of Law and is admitted to the New York Bar.  She is also a qualified solicitor and is admitted to the roll in England & Wales. She is also an accredited mediator.  Julia has also been selected as an Advisor to Concordia, a global convener of heads of states, government officials, C-suite executives, and other leaders to find cross-sector solutions that address the biggest challenges of our time.
