Omnia’s Alessandro Rollo to speak on rising sea levels and human rights at the Asian Society of International Law’s Biennial Conference

Omnia Associate Alessandro Rollo will participate in a panel titled “Rising sea-levels and international law: Asia and beyond” on 26 May 2021 at the ASIANSIL 8th Biennial Conference.
Sea levels are rising at an accelerating rate and are now a global concern for the international community. The panel will discuss tensions and challenges posed by rising sea levels to different frameworks of international law. In particular, Alessandro will focus on the impact of rising sea levels on the enjoyment of human rights.
The panel will include distinguished international law experts. It will be moderated by Dr Nilüfer Oral (Director of the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore and member of the UN International Law Commission) and feature Dr Patrícia Galvão Teles (Associate Professor of International Law at the Autonomous University of Lisbon and member of the International Law Commission) and Dr Meagan Wong (Lecturer at the University of Essex).
The panel starts at 16:00 AEST (07:00am BST) on 26 May 2021. The online conference runs from 24 to 28 May 2021.
